What's happening at Cornwall's top attractions for Easter?

 Cornwall’s top tourist attractions will be offering plenty of family fun during the Easter holidays, as visitor attractions across the county reveal the activities they’ve lined up.

For holidaymakers and locals looking for something to keep the kids amused during the school holidays, there’s a feast of fabulous fun to pick from – from Easter at Eden to performances of Hetty Feather at the Minack Theatre, from beach cleans with PK Porthcurno to Nature's Superheroes at The Lost Gardens of Heligan.

Jon Cummins, Chair of the Board of Directors at Cornwall Association of Tourist Attractions, said: “We’re delighted that all of our attractions are offering such a varied and exciting programme of events for Easter, and hope visitors enjoy all of the treats on offer.”

Easter at the Cornish Seal Sanctuary

Step into Spring at the Cornish Seal Sanctuary this Easter!

From rescued resident seals, paddock animals and penguins to the pups recovering in the care of the Sanctuary (before being released back into the wild), there’s no better time to explore nature on your doorstep.

Spring into Nature at Newquay Zoo

Throughout Easter Holidays

Throughout the Easter school holidays Newquay Zoo will be running daily animal talks led by their rangers where you can discover amazing facts about the animals. Plus, you can take part in the fun, free, and interactive nature themed activities.

Easter at Dairyland

Throughout Easter Holidays

Have an egg-ceptional time at Dairyland this Easter. Have a go at bottle feeding some of the baby animals as well as meeting newborn lambs in the Haybarn. Dairyland also have Easter themed activities running daily such as Storytime, an Easter Craft Workshop, and an Easter Bunny Quiz around the park.


Easter Egg Hunts with the National Trust

This spring, treat your little ones to a world of adventures at Trelissick, Trerice, Lanhydrock, Cotehele Trengwainton and Glendurgan on the Easter adventures in nature trails. Make your way along the trail and find nature-inspired activities for the whole family.


The People’s String Foundation at The Minack

15 April at 7pm

 In this bespoke performance for the Minack Theatre Ben and Zaid Al-Rikabi are inviting some of the leading string players from all over the south west to join them on stage – not to mention some special guests!


Planet PK Beach Cleans and Climate Messages

12 April and 19 April

Join the PK Porthcurno team for a Planet PK Beach Clean on Porthcurno beach and write messages in the sand. Porthcurno has recently been awarded Plastic Free Status, families are invited to come and write inspiring climate action messages in the sand to encourage people not to litter the beautiful beach.


Pop Up PK: Make an Easter Rainbow Branch

14 April and 21 April

Join the PK Porthcurno team for a Planet PK Pop Up activity this Easter. Inspired by their environmental programme make a colourful Easter branch to display at home.

Drawing on the German tradition of an Easter egg tree, where a branch was brought inside to hang Easter decorations, you’re invited to get crafty as you explore brightly coloured fabrics and feathers. Cut out Easter egg shapes and make buzzing bees from pinecones to hang from your branch.


Victorian Easter Egg Hunt

Join the Bodmin Jail heritage guides this Easter for a thumping treat at Bodmin Jail. The Easter Bunny has hidden several eggs around the attraction, will you find them all?  Find the eggs and claim your reward at Bodmin Jail – proving the dark can also be sweet.


The Kiss That Missed at Trebah Garden

David Melling’s delightful series of Knightly Tales is brought to life with all the charm and humour of the original stories, plus some new songs and, of course, plenty of kisses bouncing around.

This classic picture-book is a favourite bedtime story for boys and girls everywhere.


Nature’s Superheroes at The Lost Gardens of Heligan

This Easter, visit The Lost Gardens of Heligan to become reacquainted with some of the world’s most invincible and globally important characters, Nature’s Superheroes!

Choose your superhero and follow your quiz trail mission map to follow them across the Heligan estate, learning more about their lives and how they affect ours. What do you already know about them, what will you learn and how will you pledge to help their missions?




Tate Create

Come to Tate St Ives this Easter and get creative.. Join in a special Tate Create designed by a group of students from Falmouth School of Art. They have created an interactive space for families inspired by the themes in Thao Nguyen Phan’s exhibition.




A World at Sea – with the National Maritime Museum Cornwall

This Easter holidays National Maritime Museum Cornwall is taking care of our natural world. Meet Detritus of the Deep and the Washed-up Mermaid, create recycled masks in Make & Take and follow the Museum Trail where you can learn about what you can do for nature.

With adventure around every corner, Camel Creek offers excitement for the whole family — from thrill rides and adrenalin rushes to animal handling sessions and junior zookeeper experiences. This Easter, Camel Creek are open daily from the 9 – 24 April with Easter trails and chocolate giveaways.

Peter Rabbit will be visiting on the 12-13 April and Sonic The Hedgehog will be visiting on 19-20 April.

Hetty Feather hates her cruel life at the Foundling Hospital and longs to find her true mother.  Only her courage and imagination give the determined little redhead the strength to keep her hopes alive but when she encounters the glamourous, flame-haired circus performer, Madame Adeline, her dreams become dangerously entangled with the perils that lurk in the real world.  


Flambards is back with a bang for Easter

Flambards is excited to welcome back visitors every day throughout the Easter holidays (Saturday 2 – Sunday 24 April). Flambards’ much-loved mascot, Ferdi the Fox, will be on site to meet and greet visitors throughout the holidays, and is back with his popular Big Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday 17 April. Armed with a quiz trail, youngsters can hatch a plan and follow Ferdi’s hidden clues, track down the answers and claim their chocolatey prize.

For the curious minds, there will be performances from the Billy Wizz Magic Show (12 and 19 April) and also a Creepy Crawly Show ( 9 and 23 April).
